How to Treat Inflammation
Although inflammation is important in acting against damage to the body by healing the wounds inflicted, it can also cause chronic diseases. Wounds and infections can become fatal without the presence of inflammation to fight them off but prolonged inflammation responses or occurrence of inflammations to parts not injured can lead to more complications such as autoimmune abnormalities and heart disease. Acute inflammation is a response directed at the specific injured parts like sprained ankles and cut knees and it is applied only for a short term and it continually vanishes as the body recovers from the injury.
Acute inflammation is associated with painful spots that are injured, uneasy movement for the injured parts, swelling of the parts and also fevers. On the other hand, chronic inflammation does not necessarily occur on the specific parts with injuries but rather produces low inflammation across the whole body for long periods of time and it is believed to lead to development of infections. Symptoms of chronic inflammation include fevers, rashes, pain in the joints, fatigue and experiencing pain around the abdomen.
Inflammation can be countered by practicing healthier lifestyles and using certain foods and diets. Some of these diets include: oils rich in oleic acid and fatty acids for example avocado oils and grapeseed that help minimize swelling, diets with fish because they have protein and and omega-3 fatty acids.
It has been found that antioxidant increase the protection against inflammation causing agents and these nutrients are found in most fruits. Foods rich in fiber content like beans vegetables and whole grains help in lowering inflammation causative agents. Observing healthy lifestyles can help in defending against inflammation and this would include avoiding foods like red meat and processed foods which contain unhealthy contents for the body like unhealthy fats and sugars.
Good lifestyle habits that can help in preventing inflammation include avoiding the use of antibiotics, antacids and other harmful medication especially when not prescribed by doctors since they may modify your system making it hard to stand against inflammation. Ssleeping for required periods of time has been shown to improve some inflammation defending mechanisms and also physical exercises improved the way a body reacts to inflammations..Alcohol consumption can lead to the production of bacteria that can cause inflammation and also nutrients like omega-6, processed foods which contain some harmful ingredients, and also red meat.
Inflammation can be treated using anti-inflammatory drugs like steroid-free anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin and naproxens which can ease the pain but should not be used for long periods of time because they may lead to further complications. Corticosteroids are steroid related hormones that can be used as drugs to treat inflammation patients. Some herbs can also be used for inflammation treatment including hyssop, turmeric, cannabis and ginger because they contain some substances believed to cure inflammation diseases.
